Wes Speake was first elected in November 2018 and served as the first councilman for Corona’s 5th District (South Corona, Eagle Glen, and Dos Lagos) and served as the Mayor of Corona in 2022. He was reelected in 2022 to his second term. He and his wife Mary, together, have five children and two grandchildren. Wes has lived in Corona since 1980 and in the 5th District area of Corona since 2001. He attended Corona schools and graduated from Corona High School in 1986. He earned associate degrees from Riverside Community College, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management from the University of Redlands and has a certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from the University of California, Riverside.
Wes serves as a Senior Vice President for a large multinational environment and engineering firm in Riverside that specializes in environmental studies including regulatory permitting, special studies for endangered species, and cultural resources for a variety of commercial, state, local, and federal government clients.
Wes has a passion for Corona. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees for Corona Public Library, board member Corona Parks Foundation, Corona Community Task Force for the SR-91 Project, Circle City Substation Task Force, Greater Corona Traffic Alliance, board member Riverside Community College District Foundation and is a graduate of the Corona Chamber of Commerce Executive Leadership Roundtable. He has served as President of the Corona Historic Preservation Society since 2016.
Within the city, Wes chaired the McKinley Grade Separation, Water Meter sizing, and Permitting and Plan Check ad hoc committees and chaired the Infrastructure Committee for 2 years. He serves on the following Boards and Commissions:

- RCTC Western Programs and Projects Committee, (Chair-2024)
- RCTC Traffic Relief Strategy Committee,
- RCTC I-15 ad hoc Committee, and

- League of California Cities- Housing, Community and Economic Development Policy Committee- Presidential Appointee (Vice Chair-2024)
